How do I add livestock data to my carbon calculation?
Find out how to provide monthly data in Sandy onboarding, or use annual figures for a quick carbon footprint.
Using the livestock module video:
To onboard your livestock directly in the carbon calculator, you need to provide only annual figures. This data will not transfer back into onboarding and setup, but can be replicated to new carbon footprints.
Note: Please ensure that all of your arable onboarding is completed within setup if you are onboarding arable. Please also ensure that your arable carbon data is completed within setup.
Livestock Onboarding Instructions – Annual Carbon Data
Step 1

From the Sandy onboarding setup section, click Home to head to the Sandy home page
Step 2

From the Sandy Homepage, click into Sustainability on the left-hand menu

Then select Carbon

And finally select Carbon Calculator
Step 3

Click + Start new calculation on the carbon calculator section
Step 4

Set up a new calculation as per your requirements, ensuring you tick the necessary boxes for the enterprises

Once completed, click Next
Step 5

You will now be on the page to add data for specific enterprises

Here you can click into the relevant enterprise via the green + Add data buttons

From here, click into and complete the highlighted sections e.g. Milk production, Herd etc.

As within our arable carbon set up, you will notice we have required, encouraged and optional data sections

The more encouraged and optional data that you provide, the more accurate your results

If you do not hold some of the information asked, please select the Use defaultbox, and remember to Save each section once completed
Step 7

Within the Feed and Manure section, where applicable please select the Go to feed module button at the bottom of the pop-out window

Here you can view our default mix make-ups and even create your own - we highly recommend making your own to improve accuracy
Once you have completed and saved each section, you will be able to run your carbon footprint.
You can replicate your carbon footprint and livestock data from within when creating a new footprint.
