How do I prepare my data for onboarding from my farm management software? A pre-connection checklist

• Are you connected to the cloud?

  • Make sure your FMS is connected to the software cloud and backs up data. If it isn’t, you may need to talk to the software provider to update your account.

• If you’re using Gatekeeper – is it an agronomist account?

  • Unfortunately, we cannot currently connect to agronomist accounts but are working on it.

• Do you have direct access to your FMS?

  • For checking and verification purposes, we would recommend you have direct access and checking ability on your own FMS (Gatekeeper or Muddy Boots) account

• Check how much data you have in your software?

  • We can import for the following categories:

    • Crops

    • Planting

    • Harvest

    • Yield (except for with Muddy Boots)

    • Operations

  • The more data within your existing FMS, the less you’ll need to manually add into Sandy

• Check for any data gaps

  • Run a report to check for missing yields, etc.

  • Ensure all gaps are filled in - it saves you time from going back to do this later.

• Have you marked your operations as completed?

  • If it’s not completed, we won’t be able to see your data.

• Are your field names consistent?

  • Ensure your field names are identical across your platforms (if not, this will duplicate your data).

• Are your cover crops listed as cover crops not main?

  • They have a very different influence on carbon modelling, so it’s important to log these correctly.

• Fertiliser – are your organic & manufactures split correctly?

  • It’s important these are correctly labelled (whether manufactured or organic) in Sandy, for our algorithms to process them correctly.

Once you’ve made these checks, you’re ready to connect!

Your data will continue to import via API, so make sure you keep your FMS records up to date to keep Sandy up to date too.
