How do I run a carbon assessment?

Step 1

• Ensure your required data for arable is complete within the relevant sections of Carbon onboarding in Sandy Setup section. Click Activate each service, then scroll to Carbon, then click Manage data

• It may not show as fully on the outer module view, so take a look in at the sections and years you’re looking to work with in the calculation

• Use filtering to check and complete any missing sections

Step 2

• Navigate to Sandy's Homepage

• Once on the homepage, select Sustainability or the leaf icon from the panel on the left-hand side of the page.

• From the dropdown, select Carbon, and then Carbon Calculator.

Step 4

• Click the button on the right hand side, + Start new calculation.

Step 5

• Next, set up your calculation by filling in the fields required with a name, year, and type of calculation. The latter allows for scenario planning. If the calculation is for a scenario, leave it as No so that you can edit it later.

• Scroll down the page to select all or specific relevant farms, enterprises, crops, or fields, for your carbon calculation. Check the circle for Specific filters and to open up your options.

Step 6

• If you would like to replicate data from an existing carbon footprint in the future, scroll down to section 6, click Replicate Data, and choose what data you would like to replicate and its source.

• Scroll to the top and click the Next button once you have selected your chosen parameters, and progress to the next page.

Step 7

• Add in any livestock, woodland, or supporting enterprise data by clicking the + Add data button on the Livestock section.

• When inputting any livestock, woodland, or supporting enterprise data into the carbon calculation, ensure the Complete field is ticked, and then Save your progress.

• Ensure to complete this for options outside of pasture, perennial, and arable.

Step 8

• All Arable and carbon-linked land use data provided within onboarding will be imported to your footprint.

• If required, review your data by clicking each Review data button for each enterprise included in the calculation. Follow the instructions prompted in the popup box.

Step 9

• Scroll up and click the green Calculate button to progress to your carbon calculation result.
